The California coastline ranges from cliff sides to sand beaches and down to the arrid desert of Baja Mexico.  The coastlines are filled with giant kelp forests, sea bass, barracuda, sea perches and the Calif. state fish, the garibaldi.  Starfish, sea urchins, anemones, seaweed, octopus, crabs,lobsters, sea shells, abalones can be found in the tidepools along the rocky shores.  Some of the most beautiful beaches in the world are on the west coast of the US.
